The members of BITKOM generate over 140 billion € domestic sales and export the value of 50 billion €. BITKOM thus represents 90 percent of the German ICT market. In recent months, Bitkom has welcomed Comdirect Bank, Commerzbank, Degussa Bank, Privatbank Hauck & Aufhauser and token specialist Odilia as new members, among others. In the mobility segment, new members are Schaeffler, Intelligent Apps, which has developed a taxi app for a direct connection between passengers and drivers with myTaxi, the mobility service providers Turo Germany and Tracks. In the future, Miele and software company Parametric Technology will be involved with Bitkom in the Internet of Things (IoT) segment.
The retail and e-commerce sector is being reinforced by Metro AG, Zalando, MyHammer and the comparison portals Check24 and Verivox. Companies from the traditional IT sector have joined Bitkom recently, too, including Suse Linux, Axians Infoma, Cray Computer Germany, Eucon Digital, pmOne and Twitter.
